Heartwood Flooring is a family-run, qualified flooring team laying and restoring floors across Hobart and the south. We supply and install quality timber, hybrid, vinyl and carpet from brands we trust, and we bring tired old timber floors back to life with proper sanding and polishing. We’re obsessive about the prep — a level subfloor and a clean install are what make a floor look and last beautifully. Frequently asked questions
Do you supply and install, or just install?
Both — we supply quality flooring from brands we trust and install it ourselves, so you’ve got one accountable team for the whole job. We can also lay floors you’ve supplied.
Can you sand back floorboards hidden under our carpet?
Very often, yes — many Hobart homes have lovely timber floors under old carpet. We’ll lift a corner to check the condition, then sand, repair and polish them back to a stunning finish.
How long does a floor take to install?
Most homes are completed within a few days, depending on the size, the product and any subfloor prep or sanding. We’ll give you a clear schedule at quote.
Is floor sanding very dusty?
Not with us — we use modern dust-extraction sanders that capture the vast majority of dust, keeping your home clean and the disruption minimal.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Hobart and the south — including Sandy Bay, Battery Point, Kingston, New Town, Bellerive and Lindisfarne.
